About Me

Transform your wellbeing with yoga.
I know what it feels like to feel chronically stressed and burnt out, to be physically and emotionally drained and in total overwhelm and disconnect. I also know how it feels to feel aligned, calm, connected, balanced, energised and vitalised.

For me, yoga has been transformational. It could be for you too.

I truly believe yoga can help us live our best life, helping us maintain our vitality and independence to allow us to do all the things we want to do in life and helping us make good choices to live a fulfilled, meaningful and happy life.
"The practice of yoga is ultimately an act of kindness towards oneself." Judith Hanson Lasater

LIFE IS PRECIOUS

Life is short and we don't know what's round the corner. Keeping mentally and physically fit for as long as possible is vital, allowing us to get the most out of the time we have.

Life can also be hard, throwing us unexpected curve balls from time to time and j
uggling it all can be a challenge. I have been practising yoga since 2002 - since the birth of my eldest child. Without a doubt, yoga - be it the physical practice, the breathing, the meditation, the philosophy or the community - has helped me through the ups and downs of life and has been a steady constant which I can rely on, helping me navigate my way through life.
That is why I now teach, I want to share the knowledge I have gained so others too can reap the benefits of this wonderful ancient practice.

"Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the Self." The Bhagavad Gita

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT YOGA

Yoga is so much more than the shapes we make on the mat - there is a lifetime of learning ahead if one chooses. It is a philosophy with love, joy and kindness at its core and it affects the way we think, act and speak. Yes, we learn how to move well and breathe well but we also learn how to connect inwards and find a peacefulness that provides true contentment and happiness that can radiate out and affect those around us.

"Connection" is really important to me - to my self, to others and to the world around me. I would love to help you connect to your self - to your mind, body and breath, helping you to feel restored, revitalised and realigned.

When I'm not on my yoga mat, I'm...

...on my computer working on my business
...spending time with family or friends, or chatting with one of my 3 grown-up children
...walking in nature - in the park or by the river (I love being near, on or in the water)
...painting in my weekly art class which I LOVE!
...pottering in the garden
...cooking in the kitchen
...listening to a wellbeing podcast
...reading - mostly yoga or wellness related
...meditating

...at the theatre or at an art gallery - I LOVE going up to London
...playing piano duets with one of my kids
...singing in a choir
...chanting with my harmonium

...doing small-but-often bits of exercise
...watching a good Scandi-drama on TV
...dreaming of being by the sea

Previously....

I worked in our family bakery business (in fact, I have done that on and off since the age of 11!) and before that I spent 7 years in publishing (for Dorling Kindersley) as a designer and then Producer, creating award-winning children's educational interactive CD ROMs (in the days when you put a disc in your computer, before smart phones and hand-held devices!).

MY TEACHING...

I am an experienced yoga teacher, qualifying in 2015, and endeavour to make yoga accessible to all, one student describes me as "yoga-ey  but not too yoga-ey". Students like my style of teaching as it is clear and accessible and I give options to allow you to work with your body at a level that is right for you.

Through my various yoga teacher trainings and workshops - with my own teacher Louise Cashin (since 2002) - and world-wide renowned teachers (and authors) including Judith Hanson Lasater, Donna Farhi, Max Strom, Gary Carter and my meditation teacher Swami Saradananda - I am bursting with knowledge and I am passionate about sharing it with you so you too can feel great!

I teach
Beginners, Improvers, Mixed Level classes, Gentle Yoga and Chair Yoga and have an extensive collection of meditation classes available to rent. I also hold mini retreats and events offering Yin Yoga, Meditation, Breath practices, Yoga Nidra, Kirtan and Sound Baths.
None of us know what life holds for us. I firmly believe we should make the most of what we have while we have it. Let's use yoga to live well and age well.
