Hi, I am Sarah Greenall.

I came to yoga a few months after having my first baby over 18 years ago, so in the early days coming to class once a week was a real haven and time just for me. Stepping on my yoga mat was time to stop, quieten the mind, connect with "me" and put aside whatever else was happening in my life. It was a place where I found balance and calmness and I loved yoga’s ability to leave me feeling both relaxed and rejuvenated.
I liked the way I felt after class – happy, content, uplifted, restored, rejuvenated and walking taller.

Over time I found yoga seeping into my everyday life – I would start to notice my posture at my desk, or become aware of how I was breathing, or I used my breath to calm me down, or used a body scan to relax and try to sleep. I loved the connection between my body and my mind. I started to notice the natural world more and increasingly saw the beauty and good in all. I found I became less reactive in situations and more considered and responsive. It had a positive impact on my interactions with other people and how I went about my day-to-day life. I also loved the fact that I was learning – there is always something to learn from each class - and I now know that yoga offers a lifetime of learning if one chooses to delve a little deeper.

Since my first class 18+ years ago I can honestly say yoga has helped me through all facets and stages of life. It has been a constant – something that I always have and can go to at any time, as I am guaranteed it will make me feel better afterwards. For me, it has definitely been transformational and I absolutely view it as a way of being - so much so, I am now a fully qualified Yoga and Meditation Teacher (something I would never have even dreamt of when I first started yoga)!

My own teacher and mentor, Louise Cashin, is a Senior Yoga teacher who has taught internationally and worked alongside many world-class teachers including Judith Hanson Laster, Donna Farhi and Swami Saradananda (all of whom have published many books on yoga). Swami Saradananda has also been my own teacher for Yoga History and Philosophy as well as my Meditation teacher.

As a yoga teacher, I have experience in teaching complete beginners and experienced students alike. I am qualified to teach Meditation and deeply restful iRest Yoga Nidra practices. I am also qualified to teach yoga to children aged 3-11. It is an absolute privilege and honour to share the wonderful world of yoga with others and I strive to do so with knowledge, integrity and love. It is an absolute joy seeing students progress on their yoga journey and I just love it when students have that "yay" moment - be it a sense of achievement in doing a particular pose, experiencing a particularly deep relaxation, or simply "getting" the magic of yoga.

As well as teaching yoga, I am mother to 3 teenage children and Director of our own family business - a bakery founded by my Grandfather in 1929. My background is Graphic Design and I worked in Publishing for many years. I also enjoy art, music, food, travel and the theatre.

Om Shanti (peace)
