Have you ever wondered about yoga but not sure if it's right for you?
Or perhaps you once went to a class and felt everyone knew what they were doing apart from you?
Or the class was so big and impersonal you felt invisible and the teacher didn't even notice you?
Or maybe you are very self-conscious and worried you'll make a fool of yourself?
If so, this is the course for you!
We will go through all the basics of yoga and by the end of the course you will:
know what yoga is
know how to safely practise the most common yoga poses & the Sun Salutations
learn how to breathe well
understand good posture
learn about meditation (what even is it?!)
feel confident to join a general yoga class
and, most importantly, you will learn to relax.
By the end of the 6 weeks you will feel more flexible, stronger, more relaxed and revitalised!
My name is Sarah and I am a fully-qualified, experienced yoga teacher. I create a safe, welcoming, friendly space for us to learn together. We will learn all about yoga and have fun! I firmly believe yoga can help us keep mobile, fit, supple and strong, allowing us to do all the things we want to do in our life - so important as we age. Life is precious and life is for living! This is what one of my students recently told me: "I come to your classes because they make such a difference to my life. Since starting lessons with you I have become less stiff and more flexible, less stressed and more relaxed.
I have definitely noticed an improvement in my balance which used to be excellent when I was younger but was definitely worsening as I aged.
Even when I don’t feel like coming to class, because I’m busy and/or tired, without fail I always feel so much better afterwards.
The classes are fun too and you are an approachable/non-scary teacher so I don’t feel embarrassed if I am struggling to do a particular yoga pose. I cannot recommend you enough."

What if I can't make all the dates? No problem. You will be very welcome to attend any of my other 5 classes within that week, free of charge, if you can't make the Wednesday Beginners class. I also send out a weekly newsletter to the attendees of the course recapping what we learnt.
What if I can't touch my toes? It doesn't matter! Bend your knees - there's always a way round it! I always offer alternatives and options to what I teach.
Do I need a yoga mat? Ideally yes, bring your own mat. I do have a few that can be used but not enough for everyone so just let me know.
I have high blood pressure is that a problem? No, not at all. I kindly ask everyone to fill out a form before the start of the course so I am aware of any health conditions or injuries and then offer adjustments or alternatives accordingly.
Will there be any chanting? No. I teach in a very down-to-earth way, taking the "woo hoo" out of yoga.
I am really interested in learning yoga but can't make any of the dates Get in touch with me and we can discuss your options. I also welcome beginners to my general classes.
